I enjoyed this exercise, if nothing else because I was able to educate myself on some directors I was only vaguely aware of, and discover movies by directors I like. I don’t have any statistics for you today, but if you’re so inclined, give me your thoughts and feedback. Maybe drop down a list of your top five directors? Did I miss a director you love? I’ve loved what I’ve seen from Sidney Lumet, but I haven’t seen much.

I guess I don’t know my directors very well, so this was informative. I was especially surprised to see that Rob Reiner directed A Few Good Men, and Ron Howard directed A Beautiful Mind. Anyhow, here are my top five directors in this order: 1) Steven Spielberg, 2) Robert Zemeckis, 3) Lee Unkrich, 4) James Cameron; and 5) Rob Reiner
Billy Wilder. Many of my favorites were at least mentioned here, but you should see some of his movies.
I have seen zero of his movies. Huh.
