My Experience: I worked at Video Update in the late 90’s and I was given this for free by my manager as we were dumping our VHS tapes. It’s not a great movie, but I’m not upset I watched it. Based on the memoir by Stahl (Thirtysomething, Alf, Moonlighting), it’s pretty gripping and brutal at times. Not like Requiem for a Dream, but Stiller does a great job portraying an addict. There’s nothing uplifting here.
