60. Past Prologue (1.03)

Synopsis: A Bajoran terrorist tests Kira’s loyalties to the Federation when he attempts to rid Bajor of the Federation for good.

Memory Alpha SummaryHmm, this plot happens more than once I think.

Review: Tighter plot than the pilot and it packs more tension with additional character development.

We get to know Bashir better thanks to Garak, the best recurring character in the history of Star Trek. Kira’s divided loyalties take center stage without all the over-the-top anger from the pilot episode. And we get to see more of what Odo’s shapeshifting abilities can do to help the Federation, as he disguises himself as a rat to listen in on a conversation.
