Out of the many remakes that Sierra released of their original adventures, this one probably fared the best. But as is the case with most of them, they failed to actually improve the game. Of course, the production values are much better. The point-and-click interface also works as well as that in The Kindred. And surprisingly, Sonny has become a funnier guy.

But the designers messed with a plot that did not need to be messed with. One character in particular has changed completely, essentially eliminating continuity with The Vengeance. And despite the action still being there, the suspense is for the most part gone. Lastly, the endearing and funny supporting cast has been downsized, both in terms of quantity and quality.

Still, I would recommend this game to those who like the original and/or like the genre. But the original is leaps and bounds ahead of this release on the fun meter.
