93. Designing Women

Creator: Linda Bloodworth-Thomason
Years: 1986-1993

I am not entirely sure why, but I watched nearly every episode of this show on syndication when I was a teenager. It’s not a terribly funny show; it’s a lot of politics with a bunch of obvious zingers. I must have watched it because the characters are generally likable and it’s mostly well-acted. I especially liked Dixie Carter. But man does this not hold up. I just tried watching some some YouTube highlights and I’m not even laughing at the supposed best clips.

  1. I think my dad watched this a little. It never grabbed me, outside of curvy Delta Burke, before the many of her body transformations that unfortunately came to define her career.
