Synopsis: After returning from the Fire Caves on Bajor, Keiko’s body is controlled by an alien lifeform that forces her husband O’Brien to do its bidding or else face the death of his wife.
Memory Alpha Summary: Nothing good seems to happen at those caves
Review: Finally, an episode where Keiko has something to do, and a nice reversal from Power Play, where O’Brien was taken over by an alien and tortured Keiko.
Body snatching plots in general are definitely overdone, and this episode brings nothing new to the table. But it’s well-acted, well-written, and seamlessly weaves in Rom’s new job in engineering into the plot. This could have been a very contrived script but it winds up being pretty believable, all things considered. And watching O’Brien suffer is never dull.
