I talk a lot about Lost in my countdown of my favorite moments so I won’t repeat a lot here. I was alternately wowed and frustrated by this show, but mostly wowed the first few seasons and mostly frustrated the final few seasons. The pilot episode is my favorite of any show ever. If it were a movie it would rank in my top 100 movies of all-time. The sense of awe I felt was palpable and it’s the fastest I’ve ever binge-watched a one-hour drama. On another day I might rank this lower, but I have found while doing this list I have been generous towards shows that have high peaks.

Huh. I feel much the opposite. Season two goes absolutely nowhere and has some frustratingly stupid episodes, while four and five are pretty great throughout, with a lot of excellent characters being introduced on the fringes.
I can certainly agree with the first episode. Even now I can’t believe how good it is.
This show centers around a plane crash on 9/22/04, the exact birthdate of my daughter.
I would’ve figured you would’ve been all about the time traveling, sci-fi inspired fifth season. That might be my favorite.
Linds and I obsessed over this show as we binged it in a way we did over only one other show. I’m assuming that site will be higher up the list.
So yeah there are a lot of great things about seasons four and five. Desmond becoming a star player. Farraday. Sawyer’s character developing. Juliet’s too. And the time travel stuff (though I found the conclusion to that ultimately unsatisfying).
But too many flash forwards. Still way too much Jack and Kate (I was actively rooting for both of them to permanently die at this point). Sayed’s character stalled bad. The Jeremy Bentham thing was obvious and a let down. And season six, despite the pretty cool flash sideways, was unsatisfying for me.
There are plenty of issues with the first few seasons, too. I just felt more wonder and tension while watching them.
