Na na nah na nahhhhh…

So all of these years, I had no idea that Daria is a spinoff of Beavis & Butthead. I guess that’s a clear giveaway that Beavis & Butthead isn’t on the countdown. Sorry guys.

I was the perfect age for when this show came out. Daria is an intelligent, witty, misanthropic teenager, and for some reason that really spoke to me! When she made a subtle but insanely awesome joke referencing Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness (which I had just read in high school), I was hooked. The show pulls no punches, but is ultimately sweet. It’s not as laugh-out-loud funny as I would have liked, but I was always glad to be watching it.
