160. The Passenger (1.09)

Synopsis: An alien criminal, attempting to prolong his life, hides his consciousness inside the mind of a station crew member.

Memory Alpha Summary: Mr. Mystery dislikes overdone tropes.

Review: How many times has Star Trek done the whole alien body snatcher plot? It’s just not that interesting, no matter how they dress it up. The mystery is not a mystery as the teaser more or less reveals the climax forty minutes earlier.

160. Let He Who Is Without Sin… (5.07)

Synopsis: While Worf, Dax, Bashir, Leeta, and Quark vacation on Risa, Worf decides to join a radical fundamentalist group determined to start a political revolution on Risa.

Memory Alpha Summary: Almost saved the worst for last.

Review: Wow, what a dumpster fire. This is what happens if you take Justice, remove all the camp, and make it even less sexy.

161. Ferengi Love Songs (5.20)

Synopsis: Quark discovers that his mother and Grand Nagus Zek have fallen in love with each other.

Memory Alpha Summary: Your daily reminder that (most) Ferengi devalue women

Review: Whenever there’s a Ferengi episode, it’s pretty much guaranteed to be either dreadful because it’s a cartoon, or tolerable because it helps develop Quark’s character. This one is solidly in the former.

162. The Muse (4.21)

Synopsis: A mysterious woman helps Jake write a novel; Lwaxana Troi, pregnant with a son, asks Odo to help her escape her husband.

Memory Alpha Summary: Worse than Scottish ghost sex

Review: Depressed Worf is the best.

Odo: Ahem
Lwaxana: Odo, would you like to join the party?
Odo: Actually, I have some free time, and was wondering if you would like to take a walk?
Worf: I would…

Unfortunately, that’s the best part.

163. Meridian (3.08)

Synopsis: Jadzia falls in love with a scientist on a planet whose inhabitants shift between this universe and a plane of pure energy, re-emerging every sixty years. Back on DS9, Quark tries to obtain a holo-image of Major Kira for an erotic holosuite program for a wealthy patron.

Memory Alpha Summary: Needed a bigger budget, and a better inspiration

Review: A really gross, pointlessly contrived episode (based on Brigadoon) that sees Dax do the Trekky fall in love in a matter of minutes routine, but because she can’t leave the show, find a reason for her to stay on Deep Space Nine anyway.
